Jahurul still hoping to reach playoffs with Rangpur
Jahurul was honest about the poor start by the Rangers in the BPL but believes that they have been playing well in the last few games and the results have been going their way.
Jahurul Islam was hoping that his team Rangpur Rangers could reach the play-offs of the Bangabandhu Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) after defeating Sylhet Thunder by 38 runs in Sylhet.
"We are trying to win match by match. We had our backs against the wall, we had forgotten how it feels to win. So, we are now enjoying the victories. I don't know what will happen by the end of the tournament but if we can finish with six wins that would be a huge achievement because we had only won one of our first six games. So, if we finish with six wins from 12 games it would be a very good equation for us. Even if we cannot qualify for the playoffs, it would be a big achievement," Jahurul said at the post-match press conference.

"We did not start the BPL very well but we have played well in the last five matches, winning three of them. We are making a comeback. We had a few lackings, our team combination was not clicking. (Shane) Watson himself was not in form but he was very involved with the team, he brought the team into shape. We played to win today, we had no calculations in mind of whether we will qualify for the playoffs. Winning provides the team with good energy. We are playing every match to win, we are not thinking about what will be after 12 matches."
The wicket-keeper batsman was full of praise for his captain and man-of-the-match Shane Watson and expressed how much the Australian's experience helped the team.
"There is a lot to learn from him on and off the field. He has played around 360-70 matches at the highest level. Not only his captaincy but we can also learn from the tips he gives us. He did not score in the last four matches but there was no change in his attitude. They are big players for these qualities. Naim is playing very well consistently. They have the chance of being great players, they can learn from Watson so that they might also have a career like that."
