UGC to open Digital Service Design Lab to monitor universities activities
This software will be installed in all universities by 2021
The University Grants Commission (UGC) has decided to open a Digital Service Design Lab for bringing the digital services of the country's universities under a single platform.
The UGC announced the plan at a six-day workshop started on January 16 at the auditorium of Public Works Department in the city.
UGC member Professor Dil Aforza Begum told The Business Standard the initiative is expected to play a vital role in facing the challenges of fourth industrial revolution and achieving SDGs. It will also ensure the use of digital technology and transparency of university activities.
The closing ceremony of the workshop will be held at Osmani Memorial Auditorium on Wednesday.
President Abdul Hamid is expected to attend the concluding session as the chief guest while UGC Chairman Professor Kazi Shahidullah will preside over it.
State Minister for Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Zunaid Ahmed Palak, Deputy Minister for Education Mohibul Hasain Chowdhury, Senior Secretary to the Information and Communication Technology Division NM Ziaul Alam will be present at the programme as special guests.
