Asian University for Women to celebrate 8th convocation
123 students from 12 countries will receive their degrees at this year’s convocation
Asian University for Women will hold their 8th convocation this upcoming May 9 in Chattogram.
The 15th former president of New York University, John Sexton will be the commemorative speaker at the occasion. He will also be awarded the honorary Doctor of Humane Letters degree at the convocation.
AUW will also present, Prof Dr Andrea Schenker-Wicki, president of the University of Basel, Switzerland, and Gita Gopi Nath, the first female chief economist of the International Monetary Fund of Indian origin, with the honorary Doctor of Laws degree.
Along with that, Meesha Shafi, a renowned Pakistani actress and singer and the producer of Hollywood movie 'A Reluctant Fundamentalist', will be awarded the prestigious Doctor of Arts Degree.
Asian University for Women's Chancellor, Cherie Blair and Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Minister of Education, Dr Dipu Moni will preside over the convocation.
Moreover, Professor Nirmala Rao, Vice-Chancellor of AUW will direct the convocation.
