International conference on sustainable development at UIU today
The United International University (UIU) will organise a two-day conference from today at its permanent campus at United City, Madani Avenue, Baridhara in the capital. This would be the fourth edition of the annual event, said a press release.
The Institute of Development Studies and Sustainability under the United International University will overlook the entire arrangement. Key themes for this year's conference would include – climate change, adaptation, coastal zone management, disability and SDGs, ecology and biodiversity, green cities and green economy, gender and development, youth and green society, poverty, integrated water resources management, sustainable agriculture and food security, governance and sustainable development and health and well-being.
UIU believes that sustainable development is Important to meet the needs of the present world without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs. Therefore, the theme of the present conference is "Towards a Green Future."
Organised every year, the conference creates a unique opportunity to bring stakeholders from many sectors together to share practical solutions for achieving more sustainable and inclusive societies. This conference aims to create a research-based knowledge-sharing platform to take informed policy decisions, conduct research activities towards attaining the challenges of sustainable development at national, regional and international levels.
