Two Rohingya ‘robbers’ killed in ‘gunfight’
Three RAB officials were also injured during the gunfight
Two suspected Rohingya robbers were killed in a "gunfight" with the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) in Teknaf upazila of Cox's Bazar early today.
The deceased were identified as Saiful Islam Sohel, 38, and Nur Kamal, 34, confirmed RAB-15 Teknaf Camp In-charge Lt Mirza Shahed Mahtab.
Three RAB officials were also injured during the gunfight, he said.
One foreign-made pistol, six rounds of bullets and five cartridges were recovered from the spot.
Lt Mirza Shahed claimed that the deceased were the active members of robber gang "Zokir Group".
The bodies were sent to Cox's Bazar Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy.
A case was underway in this regard, said the camp in-charge.
