Bahrain-returnee with corona symptoms flees hospital
The expatriate was admitted with fever and cough three days ago
A 40-year-old Bangladeshi expatriate, who returned from Bahrain on January 18, has fled from Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College and Hospital after doctors advised him for coronavirus test.
The expatriate was admitted at the hospital with a fever and cough three days ago. He was diagnosed with pneumonia, Director of the hospital Uttom Barua told The Business Standard.
"As he had some early symptoms of coronavirus, we informed the Institute of Epidemiology Disease Control And Research (IEDCR) to perform coronavirus tests. But he fled the hospital before we could collect his samples for the test," he added.
"Relatives of other patients were constantly mocking him, saying that he is a corona patient. He may have fled the hospital due to this," Uttom Barua further said.
