Islamic Foundation asks people to follow funeral guidelines for coronavirus deaths
The health directorate has prepared the instructions following WHO guidelines
Islamic Foundation has requested everyone to follow the safe burial instructions or "standard operating procedure" while burying anyone who has died from the novel coronavirus.
The health directorate has prepared the funeral instructions following the guidelines of the World Health Organisation (WHO), said a press release.
Besides, Islamic scholars have also been consulted while preparing the instructions so that they do not go against the Islamic shariah.
In the press release issued on Monday, the foundation pointed out that every day new deaths are being reported in various countries amid the global coronavirus pandemic, while the number of newly-infected people is also rising rapidly.
The press statement also mentioned that 27 people in Bangladesh have been infected with the highly contagious virus, already more than one person has died from it.
Islamic Foundation has requested its staff members, teachers involved with mosque-based child education and mass education project in the district-level, and all imams, khatibs and muazzins to work for creating public awareness and preventing the spread of any rumour or panic.
