Islamabad has ‘shut down’ the Samjhauta Express train service linking India and Pakistan, its Railway minister Sheikh Rasheed informed foreign office, reports Reuters, amid tension in relations between the two nations with Islamabad downgrading diplomatic ties with India and stopping trade ties.
Indian Railway sources confirmed that the train was stopped at Wagah border and passengers were stranded, reports PTI
According to reports the train is not being allowed to enter India. Indian officials, however said, there was no formal notice of the suspension of service. Details are awaited

The move comes days after Indian Parliament okayed scrapping of Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir and dividing the state into two Union Territories. This was strongly criticised by Pakistan, which held a special session of its Parliament to discuss the issue.
