Ravi Shankar’s students perform on his 100th birthday
Anoushka Shankar posted a YouTube video where Ravi Shankar’s students played “Sandya Raga” as a tribute to the Sitar maestro.
April 7, 2020 marked the 100th birth anniversary of the Hindustani classical musician Pandit Ravi Shankar.
A celebration of his centennial was meant to be celebrated with special events across the globe, including a multi-country tour by his daughters Anoushka Shankar and Norah Jones.
Due to the coronavirus outbreak, the scheduled events have been halted. However, Anoushka Shankar posted a video on YouTube where Ravi Shankar's students played "Sandya Raga" as a tribute to the Sitar maestro.

Ravi Shankar was born in Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh. His ancestral home was in the Kalia upazila of Narail in Bangladesh.
Dhani Harrison, son of late musician George Harrison, also posted a status on Facebook in remembrance of his father's friend Ravi Shankar. Dhani called Ravi a "father figure" and a magical musician.
