GSK partners with Care Bangladesh to support Covid-19 affected people
A total of 19 volunteer groups and community support groups coordinated with ward councillors in ward no 37, 22, 19, 17 and 12
With the financial support from GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) Bangladesh funded Halow+ (Health Access and Linkage Opportunities for Workers Plus) project, GSK has recently distributed personal protective equipment (PPE), disposable hand gloves, mask, hand sanitizer, liquid soap, hand rubs in Gazipur in collaboration with Care Bangladesh, health officials, local government officials and community volunteers.
GSK has also distributed Horlicks amongst the underprivileged people of Gazipur to provide nutrition.
A total of 19 volunteer groups and community support groups have coordinated with ward councillors in ward no 37, 22, 19, 17 and 12.
Ward 12 councillor Abbas Uddin was present in the distribution in Baimile, Gazipur and thanked GSK and Care Bangladesh for coming forward to support people from disadvantaged communities in Gazipur.
He said the livelihood of the people from disadvantaged communities got affected due to Covid-19 related emergency.
Gazipur City Corporation mayor Md Zahangir Alam received protective equipment and hand-washing materials including disposable hand gloves, mask, hand sanitizer, liquid soap and hand rubs from the high officials of Halow+ project.
Till date, Halow+ project has reached nearly 30,000 RMG workers and 40,000 community people through small group discussion sessions, one-one awareness discussion, hand washing demonstration, a group awareness session on handwashing, distribution of posters and handwashing arrangements in factories and communities in Gazipur City Corporation.
