Army opens bazar for destitute people in Narsingdi
Through the bazaar, the Bangladesh Army has already assisted 1,000 destitute and low-income families of Raipura and Belabo upazilas
Amid the Covid-19 pandemic, the 9 Infantry Division of Bangladesh Army opened "Harmony Bazaar" for destitute people inNarsingdi.
The bazaar has been established on the Raipura College field at Raipura upazila on Monday.
Through the bazaar, the Bangladesh Army has already assisted 1,000 destitute and low-income families of Raipura and Belabo upazilas, said in an ISPR press release.
The army not only distributed masks, rice, vegetables and other commodities among the poor by maintaining social distancing but also helped the farmers financially by buying vegetables from them.
Brigade commander of 9 Artillery, Brig Gen Md Ashrafuzzaman Siddiqui was present at the campaign as the chief guest with other respected guests such as the deputy commissioner and the superintendent of police of Narsingdi.
