National Parliament whip donates a year’s salary to tornado affected people

Organizing secretary of Bangladesh Awami League and National Parliament whip Abu Sayeed Al Mahmud Swapon has donated a year's salary to the tornado affected people of Khetlal and Kalai upazilas of Joypurhat district.
Two tornadoes hit Joypurhat on May 24 and 27. Whip Abu Sayeed visited the tornado-hit places and organised a meeting with the concerned authorities on the issue.
He instructed the authorities regarding compensation during the meeting. He provided them with immediate government assistance. In addition to that, he also provided them with financial assistance by donating a year's allowance.

"Nobody will be deprived of humanitarian response in the areas I represent. The tornado affected people will be rehabilitated after talks with the prime minister and the concerned ministries," he said.
Earlier on May 26, he donated Tk4 lakh to the Khetlal upazila council.
