Alishaba stood by the window and said, 'May Allah take away the virus and heal my father. When Dad has recovered, I will go to the land of butterflies wearing Eid attire."

The video was posted on the Barishal Metropolitan Police's 'BMP Media Cell' Facebook page at around 3am.

Abdur Rahman Mukul is the inspector of Barisal Kotwali Model Police Station (officer-in-charge, investigation). He contracted Covid-19 while on duty.

Kotwali Model Police Station OC Nurul Islam said during the Covid-19 situation, Mukul has continued his duty to ensure social distancing and to keep the law and order situation normal. He got infected while on duty.

Barisal Metropolitan Police (BMP) Commissioner Shahabuddin Khan said they were in constant touch with Abdur Rahman Mukul over the phone.

About 2,000 members of BMP are working relentlessly to ensure social distancing and to maintain law and order. Alongside regular patrols, they are arranging janaza and burial of those who died of Covid-19, he said.

So far, 98 members of BMP have been infected with Covid-19 while on duty. Of them, 24 have recovered and are waiting to return to work, the BMP Commissioner added.
