McConaughey joins as a new professor of University of Texas
McConaughey will be a "professor of practice" at the Moody College
Oscar-winning actor, Matthew McConaughey has been appointed as a professor at the University of Texas (UT) at Austin.
McConaughey will be a "professor of practice" at the Moody College of Communication and he will be part of the faculty of Department of Radio-Television-Film, according to reports by CNN.
The actor has previously acted as a visiting professor in UT from 2015 and this will be his official agreement with the prestigious university.
McConaughey and Scott Rice, faculty member and director, have been co-teaching the Script to Screen film production class but this will be the first time, his name will be enlisted as the course instructor.
As a professor, McConaughey’s fall semester class will include a study of “The Gentleman” and the 2012 drama “Mud,” whose director Jeff Nichols is scheduled to visit.
