Singapore expatriate from Narayanganj dies of cancer
Rana Sikder, a Singapore expatriate from Narayanganj, died after battling cancer for three months in a row.
He died on Tuesday afternoon (June 9) at his ancestral home in Syedpur area of Goganagar union under the sadar upazila.
Rana Sikder went to Singapore 13 years ago to restore the family's financial well-being. There, he worked in a shipbuilding company.
In March this year, Rana was diagnosed with stomach cancer at a hospital in Singapore.
However, according to Rana's last wish, the Bangladesh government brought him back to the country in an air ambulance two weeks ago.
On Tuesday evening, Rana Sikder was buried at his family graveyard after his namaz-e-janaza at a local mosque by following hygiene rules and physical distance.
According to the relatives, Rana's last wish was to spend the last days with his family.
