Former senior secretary Shah Kamal arrested in Dhaka

Earlier on 16 August, police raided Shah Kamal's residence in Mohammadpur and seized Tk3.11 crore worth of local and foreign currencies.

The Detective Branch of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) yesterday (17 August) arrested Shah Kamal, former senior secretary of the Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief.

DMP seizes Tk3.11cr, including foreign currency, from ex-senior secretary's residence

In a statement sent to the media, the DMP said he was arrested from the Mohakhali area of the capital yesterday night.

Earlier on 16 August, police raided Shah Kamal's residence on Babar Road in Mohammadpur and seized Tk3.11cr worth of local and foreign currencies.

Shah Kamal served as secretary from 2015 to 2019 and senior secretary from 2019 to 2020.
