Banks ordered to freeze accounts of Dipu Moni, her husband and brother

The Bangladesh Financial Intelligence Unit (BFIU) has ordered all banks to freeze the accounts of former social welfare minister Dipu Moni, her husband Taufiq Nawaz and her brother Dr JR Wadud Tipu.
The BFIU has sent the directives to all banks in this regard today (19 August).
At the same time, bank account transactions of the businesses owned by the trio have been suspended.

Dipu Moni was arrested earlier today and taken into DB custody, DMP officials confirmed.
