Task forces to be formed to tackle delays, ticket fraud, and land issues: Railways adviser
The adviser also stressed the need for transparency and urged officials to move away from a culture of self-praise
Railways Adviser Muhammad Fouzul Kabir Khan has directed the formation of three task forces to enhance railway services.
One task force will address delays in train operations, another will combat black-marketing of tickets, and the third will focus on reclaiming occupied railway properties.
During an introductory meeting with Railway Ministry officials on Monday (19 August), he gave the instructions.
The adviser also stressed the need for transparency and urged officials to move away from a culture of self-praise.
Additionally, he instructed them to take necessary steps to reduce railway expenditure.
The student movement, which played a pivotal role in bringing the current government to power, was driven by a strong desire for change, he said.
"The students and the public made significant sacrifices, reflecting their commitment to reform," he added.
Khan further said the consequences would be severe if the government fails to meet expectations, particularly as the current administration has a stronger mandate than any previous
government, given the widespread public dissatisfaction with past corruption, nepotism, and irregularities.
