His appointment is for a period of three years, effective from the date of his joining
Engineer Md Nurul Karim has been appointed as the new chairman of Chattogram Development Authority (CDA) as Mohammad Yunus, an Awami League leader appointed as the CDA chairman just four months ago, was removed from his position.
An official notification was issued today (2 September) in this regard by Kaniz Fatima, the deputy secretary of the contracts and foreign recruitment branch of the Ministry of Public Administration.
According to the notification, the remaining term of Mohammad Yunus's appointment has been cancelled.
In his place, Engineer Md Nurul Karim will take over as the chairman of the CDA, as per Section 7 of the Chattogram Development Authority Act, 2018.
His appointment is for a period of three years, effective from the date of his joining. It is also mentioned in the notification that Nurul Karim must sever all working relationships with other institutions and organisations to assume this role.
AL leader Mohammad Yunus was appointed as the CDA Chairman on 24 April this year for a three-year term. However, his tenure has been cut short after just four months, leading to the new appointment.
