Murder cases filed in Narayanganj against Quader, Ivy, Shamim
Two separate murder cases were filed yesterday (4 September) against former minister Obaidul Quader, former Narayanganj city mayor Selina Hayat Ivy and former MP Shamim Osman with Siddhirganj police station in Narayanganj.
One of the cases was filed last evening against 130 people for killing garments worker Minarul Islam during the protest led by the Anti-discrimination Student Movement on 20 July near the Adamjee Route-Amin Power house area.
Nazmul Haque, brother of the victim, filed the case accusing Quader, Ivy, Shamim Osman, his son Aoyon Osman and niece Azmeri Osman, Zila Parishad Chairman Anwar Hossain, expelled BNP leader Ataur Rahman Mukul, former textiles minister Golam Dastagir Gazi, Kaiser Hasanat, councilor Enayet Hossain, and others, said Md Abu Akar Siddiqui, officer in charge (OC) of Siddhirganj police station.
According to the case, the victim was shot by Shamim Osman around 6:30pm on 20 July. He was rushed to Narayanganj 300-bed hospital, where the duty doctors declared him dead.
Earlier at noon, a woman named Aklima Akhter filed a case with Siddhirganj police station for killing his husband, Syed Mostafa Kamal, during the student-people uprising.
Sheikh Hasina, Obaidul Quader, Shamim Osman and Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal were named, among others, as the accused in the case.
