Ctg Primary Education Directorate donates Tk83 lakh for flood victims
In an effort of solidarity and support for those affected by recent devastating floods, primary school teachers, officials, and employees in Chattogram district have collectively donated Tk83 lakh to the Chief Advisor's Fund to aid flood victims in various districts including Feni and Cumilla.
According to the District Primary Education Office, teachers from 21 upazilas in Chattogram, along with 10 officials working at the District Primary Education Office, have contributed a total of Tk83,59,995 to the Director General's office. Of this amount, Tk82,94,423 was donated by teachers, while various upazila officials contributed Tk65,572.
However, the teachers, officials, and employees from Mirsarai Upazila, which itself was affected by the floods, did not contribute to the fund.
Assistant District Primary Education Officer Md Rabiul Hossain sent a letter to the Director General's office on behalf of the District Primary Education Officer, officially submitting the collected funds.
Among the 21 upazilas, Raujan Upazila contributed the highest amount, with primary teachers there donating a total of Tk7,05,310.
This donation follows a nationwide announcement by the Directorate of Primary Education, which encouraged teachers, officials, and employees across the country to donate one day's basic salary to the Chief Advisor's Fund to aid flood victims.
