Probashi Kallyan Bank starts to bring remittance in partnership with City Bank
Probashi Kallyan Bank (PKB) and City Bank Plc signed an essential agreement at the Ministry of Expatriates' Welfare and Overseas Employment yesterday.
Under this, the workers who have gone abroad with loans taken from PKB can now send their remittances to PKB by using City Bank as a vehicle and then withdraw the money as cash from the branches of PKB. That way, they can repay their loan installments at PKB more easily. In its second phase, the project will see the workers sending their remittances directly to PKB through City Bank's partner exchange companies abroad.
Dr Asif Nazrul, Advisor to the Ministry of Expatriate Welfare and Foreign Employment, chaired the agreement signing ceremony. Md Mazibur Rahman, Managing Director of Probashi Kallyan Bank, and Mr Mashrur Arefin, Managing Director and CEO of City Bank Plc, signed the agreement. Md Ruhul Amin, Chairman of PKB and ministry secretary, was also present.
