Convict with death sentence arrested after 10 years of being on the run
The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB-7) arrested Dr Saifullah, a fugitive sentenced to death in a murder case on Tuesday (17 September).
He was arrested from the Beltal East Shaheed Nagar shop under the Bayezid Bostami police station in Chattogram.
RAB-7's media wing confirmed the arrest through a press release and said Dr Saifullah had been on the run for 10 years after being sentenced to death in a murder case filed at Asashuni police station in Satkhira district.

In addition to this case, he is also accused in two other murder cases—one in Asashuni, Satkhira, and another at Shahbagh police station in Dhaka.
RAB-7 further said the arrest was part of an ongoing effort to bring absconding criminals to justice.
Further legal procedures are underway following Dr Saifullah's arrest, said RAB.
