Ex-MP Kamal Ahmed placed on 3-day remand
Ikramul sustained bullet injuries on 4 August amid the students-led mass uprising and later succumbed to his injuries at the Combined Military Hospital on 14 August
A Dhaka court today (19 October) placed former lawmaker Kamal Ahmed Majumder on a three-day remand in connection with a case filed over the killing of student Ikramul Haque.
Ikramul sustained bullet injuries on 4 August amid the students-led mass uprising and later succumbed to his injuries at the Combined Military Hospital on 14 August.
Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) Judge Ali Haider passed the order after the investigation officer (IO) of the case produced Kamal before the court seeking a 7-day remand plea.
Police earlier arrested Kamal from the capital's Gulshan around 1am on Saturday (18 October).
Ziaul Haque, father of Ikramul, lodged a murder case with Shah Ali police station on 7 September.
