12 wounded as masked gunmen open fire on locals after hacking BNP activist in Ctg

At least 12 people have suffered bullet wounds in a shooting attack by masked gunmen in Chattogram's Rauzan area last night (14 November).
Of them, 11 have been admitted to the Chattogram Medical College Hospital, according to police and locals.
The incident took place in the Niramishpara village at Noapara union in Rauzan, Rauzan Police Station Officer-in-Charge Mir Mahabubur Rahman said.
The injured have been identified as Md Jasim Uddin, 50, Md Mohiuddin, 38, Jan-e-Alam, 44, his brother Md Saifuddin, 31, Md Lavlu, 28, Nuruddin, 28, his brother Md Manik, 36, Md Masud 35, Alauddin, 40, Md Humayun, 45, Nurul Absar, 55.
According to locals, at around 9:0ppm Thursday, a group of 20-25 masked men beat up and hacked local a BNP activist named Md Mohiuddin. When locals went to protest the incident, the attackers opened fire on them, injuring at least 12.
However, according to Rauzan OC Mahabubur, the attackers allegedly belong to a rival BNP faction.
"They went to attack the son of former Noapara UP chairman Khayez Ahmed last night. They opened fire when the locals obstructed them, injuring around 12-15 people," he said
