BRAC finds family of expatriate who was deported from Saudi Arabia
BRAC's Migration Programme helped trace the family of an expatriate who recently returned home from Saudi Arabia.
The man, whose identity had initially been unknown, was found in a distressed state, prompting efforts to reunite him with his loved ones.
After serving time in Riyadh Jail, the expatriate, Altaf Ali, was deported on a Saudi Airlines flight yesterday.
However, he had lost his travel documents, which typically include the name and address of a designated contact person, reads a press release issued by BRAC.
Ali was unable to provide specific details about the missing documents. Then the airport authorities referred him to BRAC for assistance in locating his family.
BRAC's Migration Programme, upon learning of Ali's situation, initiated efforts to trace his family.
They eventually located his family in Gobindpur village under Kalihati upazila of Tangail.
"A Saudi Arabian expatriate, having seen a post by the BRAC Migration Programme on Facebook, informed his family in Tangail. Subsequently, the family contacted BRAC," said the media release.
