Joy Bangla Concert in Mujib Borsho made it special
This concert commemorated the essence of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman's historic speech that called forth the Liberation War of 1971
A cloudy day – the best weather to throw an outdoor event. Open-air concerts are the perfect function that can be enjoyed by the masses. Like every year, on March 7, the youth of Dhaka was rocked to the rhythms of Joy Bangla Concert 2020.
This concert commemorated the essence of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman's historic speech that called forth the Liberation War of 1971. Scheduled 10 days ahead of the centenary birth anniversary of the father of the nation made this year's concert more special than the other years'.
As the gates opened at 11:30am, the crowd started flowing in from all over the town. In fact, fans came in from different districts of the country to witness their favourite bands and musicians performing live at the capital's Army Stadium.

Making this year's Joy Bangla Concert as inclusive and diversified as possible, the line-up consisted of both, the big guns and uprising stars. Followed by a welcome note and the National Anthem, some of the rising bands – Introit, Arekta Rock Band, Adverb, Sin, and Conclusion presented the audience with a wonderful performance.
Conclusion swooped the crowd off their feet with numbers like "Shajo Tumi" and "Odyssey", among their original numbers. Among the bands, F Minor was the only all-female and ethnic band that performed in the event.
The line-up of big guns at the concert consisted of renowned bands like Shunno, Vikings, Lalon, Arbovirus, Cryptic Fate, Nemesis, Fuad and Friends, Chirkut, Minar, and Avoid Rafa.
Minar performed his original numbers taking to the stage in the afternoon. Followed by Minar, Avoid Rafa engaged the crowd. Following through, Vikings' performance broke all barriers and transitioned into something otherworldly. As the crowd cheered to their numbers, the energy kept levelling up.
The hard rock band – Vikings – performed their popular numbers, including "Ishwar", "Tor oi shohore", and "Opekkha". They also performed the "Shadhin Bangla Betar Kendra" song "Purbo Digonte Shurjo Utheche" in their set-list.
At 7pm sharp, the video clip of the iconic 7 March speech was played on multiple big screens all over the stadium.
In between the performances of maestros, a holographic projection portraying key moments of the independence of Bangladesh was also presented by the organisers.
Among the big guns, Chirkut was the showstopper of the concert, and the band ended this year's concert with a remarkable performance.
For six consecutive years, Young Bangla has successfully wooed the hearts of music fans.
