The 23rd Dhaka International Film Festival to highlight global cinema and local talent
The 23rd instalment of the Dhaka International Film Festival (DIFF), organised by Rainbow Film Society is set to make waves in the entertainment industry once again, from 11 January to 19 January.
DIFF will be screening about 220 films from across 75 countries. Film screenings will take place in Alliance Francaise de Dhaka, Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy, Bangladesh National Museum Auditorium, Green University of Bangladesh Auditorium and North South University Auditorium.
Aside from that, films will compete in segments such as 'Asian Cinema Section', 'Retrospective', 'Tribute', 'Wide Angle', 'Bangladesh Panorama Section', 'Cinema of the World Section', 'Children Films Section', 'Women Filmmakers Section', 'Short and Independent Films Section' and 'Spiritual Films Section'.
The festival will highlight international films from countries such as Malaysia, Japan, Russia, Turkey, and more. Additionally, the spotlight will also be on local talent including films such as 'Boli' directed by Iqbal H Chowdhury, (2023), 'Julyer Chithi' (2024) directed by Md Lahul Miah, 'Agantuk' (2023) directed by Biplob Sarkar, and more.
