CID arrests 1 in connection with data breach of Atif Aslam concert tickets
The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has arrested Arif Arman, charged with hacking a website selling Atif Aslam's concert tickets in Dhaka.
Arif Arman, 30, and two others hacked the Ticket Tomorrow website and leaked personal information of those who bought tickets for the Atif Aslam concert in Dhaka on 29 November, according to an official of CID's cyber unit.
Earlier on 23 November, a major data breach came to light when a self-claim developer with Facebook named Fardeen Ahmed Cse alleged that Ticket Tomorrow's site lacked basic security, enabling him to access and alter the ticket database.
He briefly shared the compromised data online, stating his intention was to compel the organisers to address the issue, and later deleted it once the breach gained attention.
Ticket Tomorrow also posted a statement from their social media platform saying the perpetrators' motive was to tarnish the reputation of Triple Time Communication and Ticket Tomorrow ahead of the 'Magical Night 2.0' concert.
"Mozammel Haque Jony, chairman of Adventor Global Limited, and Abdullah Al Mamun, CTO of Tickify, admitted their involvement in a phone conversation with Triple Time. Both individuals currently reside in the UAE, and efforts are underway to bring them back to Bangladesh promptly," it reads.
"The arrested individual, Arif Arman, has confessed in his statement and identified Mozammel Haque Jony as his brother-in-law," the statement further reads.
