Diddy remains jailed as court considers bail request
Sean "Diddy" Combs will remain in jail while a federal appeals court weighs his third bail request. The hip-hop star, 54, was denied immediate release by Circuit Judge William J Nardini on 11 October.
Combs, who faces sex trafficking and racketeering charges, has been held at a Brooklyn jail since his 16 September arrest. He is accused of using his celebrity status to coerce women into drugged sexual acts at events dubbed "Freak Offs."
Despite a $50 million bail proposal, a judge ruled that Combs remains a danger to the community and could obstruct the investigation. His defense argues the accusations are speculative, citing his public prominence and family ties as evidence against flight risk. The case is set for trial in May, with a new judge suggesting he may reconsider the bail issue in the future.
