Dream Theater announce new album
Progressive metal giants 'DREAM THEATER' are set to release their sixteenth studio album, 'Parasomnia', on 7 February 2025. This marks the band's first album with drummer Mike Portnoy since 2009's 'Black Clouds & Silver Linings.'
The album coincides with the band's 40th anniversary tour announcement. Produced by guitarist John Petrucci, Parasomnia was engineered by James Meslin and mixed by Andy Sneap, with cover art once again by Hugh Syme.
The album, which runs 71 minutes, explores themes of sleep disturbances, reflected in tracks like 'A Broken Man,' 'Dead Asleep', and 'Bend The Clock'. The lead single, 'Night Terror', is a nearly ten-minute journey showcasing the band's signature sound.
A music video for the track, directed by Mike Leonard, has been released on YouTube as well.
Parasomnia promises to deliver the intricate musicianship and storytelling that Dream Theater fans have cherished for four decades.
