Tom Cruise has received the esteemed Grande Médaille from the Aero-Club de France for his contributions to aviation and inspiring future pilots.
The award, presented on 8 February by the club's president, Catherine Maunoury, is the highest distinction from the historic institution, founded in 1898.
Cruise, known for performing daring stunts, including piloting and jumping from aircrafts, was recognised for his impact on aviation history. A video from the event shows him shaking hands with officials and receiving applause.
The actor, currently starring in 'Mission: Impossible — The Final Reckoning', has undertaken extreme airborne feats, including flying a Boeing Stearman biplane at 10,000 feet. His passion for aviation was also evident in 'Top Gun: Maverick' and his Olympic skydiving stunt.
