Asia XI vs World XI T20Is postponed
The two T20Is were scheduled to take played on 21 and 22 March but that has now been deferred as the Bangladesh Cricket Board president Nazmul Hassan addressed the media at Mirpur on Wednesday.
The scheduled twenty20 international (T20) matches between Asia XI vs World XI have been postponed for the time being as a precaution to the worldwide coronavirus outbreak.
The two T20Is were scheduled to take played on 21 and 22 March but that has now been deferred as the Bangladesh Cricket Board president Nazmul Hassan addressed the media at Mirpur on Wednesday.
An opening concert featuring celebrated Indian musician AR Rahman was also part of the celebrations but that too could be suspended as the BCB seeks clearance from the Bangladesh government.
"We had an option to have a concert on 18 March but we wanted to keep this occasion grand and the way we had initially planned everything. That is why, we are pushing the dates back and when things improve we will proceed with everything as planned," Nazmul said.
The matches which were part of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman's birth centenary will now be played at a later date, which has not been announced yet.
"In the next month, we will see how things are and then organise everything accordingly," Nazmul concluded.
