Coronavirus outbreak could postpone Asia XI vs World XI T20s
To celebrate the birth centenary of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, two T20s were arranged on March 21 and 22 at Mirpur's Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium.
The scheduled World XI vs Asia XI twenty20 friendly matches could hit a roadblock as the worldwide coronavirus outbreak increases.
To celebrate the birth centenary of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, two T20s were arranged on March 21 and 22 at Mirpur's Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium.
"We have not discussed about the two matches yet. Before cancelling or suspending the games we have to consider a lot of factors. Cricket boards from a lot of different countries are involved here including the cricketers. We will get an opportunity to play them later on in the year so time is not an issue here," Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) CEO Nizamuddin Chowdhury said to the media at a press conference on Monday.
An opening concert featuring celebrated Indian musician AR Rahman was also part of the celebrations but that too could be suspended as the BCB seeks clearance from the Bangladesh government.
