Bangladesh won just three matches - against Afghanistan, South Africa and West Indies - and had their game against Sri Lanka washed out.
The Bangladesh cricket team returned Dhaka on Sunday after what can be termed as an underwhelming World Cup.
Apart from an amazing performance from Shakib Al Hasan, where he scored 606 runs in eight innings and also took 11 wickets, while Mustafizur Rahman took 20 wickets, though with an economy over six, the rest of the team failed to perform to their levels.

The target leading into the tournament was to qualify for the semi-finals, and for that they would have needed to win five games at least, which they failed to do.
Captain Mashrafe Bin Mortaza, who played his final World Cup, had an especially poor tournament, taking just one wicket, while having an economy over six.
The 35-year-old’s future is under a cloud as to how long he will be playing cricket and he has said he will have a “rethink” about his future plans.
Bangladesh next play Sri Lanka in a three-match ODI series later this month.
The three games will be played in Colombo.
