The Bangladesh Premier League (BPL), which began its journey in 2012, had seen much discussion and debate over its prize money until 2022. In 2023, the prize money was increased, and the same amount was maintained for the following season. This time, however, the prize money has been further increased. After an additional 2 crore 3 lakh increase, the total prize money for this year's BPL stands at 5 crore 31 lakh taka.
The champion team will receive 2.5 crore taka, up from the previous 2 crore. The runner-up will receive 1.5 crore taka, also an increase of 50 lakh taka. For the first time, teams finishing in third and fourth places will receive prize money.
The third-placed team, Khulna Tigers, will receive 60 lakh taka. The fourth team, Rangpur Riders, which was eliminated in the eliminator, will receive 40 lakh taka. For the first time in the tournament's history, the best emerging player will receive a cash prize of 3 lakh taka.
In addition, the player of the match in the final, the tournament's best player, the highest run scorer, and the highest wicket-taker will receive the same prize money as before. The best player of the tournament will receive 10 lakh taka, while the highest run scorer will receive 5 lakh taka. Leading the race for the highest run scorer is Khulna opener Naeem Sheikh, who has accumulated 511 runs at an average of 42.58, including one century and three half-centuries, in 14 matches.
The highest wicket-taker will also receive 5 lakh taka. In this race, Durbar Rajshahi's pacer Taskin Ahmed is ahead. This right-arm pacer, who has been outstanding throughout the season, has taken 25 wickets in 12 matches. The best fielder of the tournament, like the best emerging player, will also receive 3 lakh taka.
