Mashrafe to skip fitness test
BCB announced a list of 113 players who will undergo fitness test on November 9 and 10.
The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) is going to organise a T20 tournament late this month. Around 160 players have already been listed in 4 categories for the tournament.
Prior to the tournament, cricketers will have to pass a fitness test. BCB announced a list of 113 players who will undergo fitness test on November 9 and 10. Shakib Al Hasan, whose ban just ended a few days ago, is also among these 113 players. Apart from Shakib, BCB called up the likes of Nasir Hossain, Sohag Gazi and Shahriar Nafees, who haven't been in the scheme of things for the national team for a long while. 35-year-old Nafees last played international cricket back in April 2013.
Ex-ODI skipper, Mashrafe Bin Mortaza, however, will skip this test as he himself thinks is not fit enough. Akram Khan, the BCB director and chairman of the cricket operations committee, today told the reporters that Mashrafe wanted to skip the test as he is not fit at the moment.
Mashrafe had to skip the BCB President's Cup that took place last month as well due to personal and fitness related problems. It was expected that he would be back with the Bangabandhu T20 Cup this month.
