Mominul set for surgery on fractured finger
Initially, it was believed that the left-handed top-order batsman would need three to four week to recover but now it seems like a lengthier spell on the sidelines await him.
Mominul Haque is set to have surgery on his injured right-thumb after consulting a specialist on Monday.
Bangladesh Cricket Board's (BCB) chief physician Dr Debashish Chowdhury told The Business Standard that Mominul would have to have his injured finger operated.
"We are not yet decided on whether to have the operation in the country or abroad but we need to have the injured finger operated on as soon as possible. If we have the surgery abroad then we have to keep in mind that there will be a quarantine period and then the matter of obtaining a visa," Debashish told TBS.
Mominul injured his thumb while fielding in the last match against Gemcon Khulna and is now set to miss the remainder of the Bangabandhu T20 Cup for his side Gazi Group Chattogram.

West Indies are set to tour Bangladesh in January and the Test captain could also be a doubt for that, although Dr Debashish believes that it's too early to say that.
"Mominul is out of this tournament. That's for sure. But it would be wrong to comment on his availability for the West Indies series already," the chief physician of the BCB said.
