Naeem blasted three sixes and five fours in an explosive 41-ball 56.
Naeem Islam played a pivotal role with both bat and ball as Chittagong Kings cruised to a 111-run victory over Durbar Rajshahi in their Bangladesh Premier League group-stage match in Chattogram on Monday.
Naeem blasted three sixes and five fours in an explosive 41-ball 56, guiding Chittagong to a total of 191-8 at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium. He then produced a brilliant bowling performance, claiming figures of 2-6 from three overs to help bowl Rajshahi out for just 80 in 14.2 overs.
Opening the batting for Chittagong, Naeem shared an 84-run partnership for the second wicket with Graham Clark (28-ball 45) after Usman Khan was dismissed in the second over. Quickfire knocks from Mohammad Mithun (20-ball 32) and Haider Ali (14-ball 25) propelled Chittagong past the 180 mark.
Rajshahi's skipper Taskin Ahmed, the tournament's highest wicket-taker, claimed two wickets to extend his tally to 20. However, it was a collective bowling effort from Chittagong, with all seven bowlers picking up wickets. Shoriful Islam and Naeem Islam each took two wickets.
