Tamim comes to aid admitting Biplob's father to hospital
National team leg spinner Aminul Islam Biplob was running ragged trying to admit his father to any hospital until Tamim came forward helping.
The whole medical system has taken a hit because of the coronavirus pandemic. Many are rushing to the hospital only to get no help. Many patients in critical condition are not being able to get admitted. The same happened to national team leg spinner Aminul Islam Biplob. He rushed from one hospital from another to admit his ailed father but all was in vain.
Biplob tried to admit his father in five hospitals in the last couple of days but could not. Seeing no other way, he contacted ODI skipper Tamim Iqbal for help. And courtesy of his help, Biplob could finally get his father, Abdul Kuddus admitted to the National Heart Foundation Hospital & Research Institute in Mirpur on Wednesday evening.
Biplob told The Business Standard (TBS), "I called Tamim bhai seeing no other way. Also, I called our manager Sabbir bhai. Tamim bhai told me to wait a minute. Tamim bhai talked to an acquainted doctor at the Heart Foundation and managed the admission of my father and I got him admitted."
Biplob informed that his father's condition is better now. Biplob said, "He is alright now. Looks like he is better now. He has been kept in isolation in his ward now. He has been tested for the coronavirus in the morning. The doctors said that he will be treated accordingly after getting the test results."
Biplob could not admit his father to any hospital because of his breathing problems. Describing his painful experience, Biplob said, "My father has asthma. He was facing trouble breathing for the last 2-3 days. When I saw that his situation was critical, I contacted a few hospitals to get him admitted. All of them told me to get him tested first. Seeing the test results, they were not admitting him. They were saying that they will not admit patients with breathing problems."
Biplob thought that he might get his father admitted to the Central National Medical College at Shyamoli but he could not.
"We went to the Central National Medical College at Shyamoli but they said the same thing. I thought that they would admit him here. But after doing the tests here, they understood the breathing problems. They thought that the breathing problems were because of heart problems. They advised us to take him to the Heart Foundation immediately."
But Biplob faced the same situation at the Heart Foundation. He said, "I took him to the Heart Foundation and talked to the doctors. But they said that they will not admit him because of a shortage of seats. By then I had already gone to a lot of hospitals. This was the last one. I was clueless about what to do. Then I called Tamim bhai."
Biplob has played seven T20Is for the national side, picking up 10 wickets.
