Tamim out of the DPL Super League stage with knee injury

A right knee injury has ruled out Tamim Iqbal for the remainder of the Dhaka Premier League with the business end of the T20 tournament, the Super League stage, approaching.
Although the Prime Bank cricket club captain played with discomfort in the knee for a few matches, he will not be risking aggravating the injury further.
After playing in the match against Khelaghar Samaj Kallyan Samity, the ODI captain of Bangladesh left the bio-bubble and went home, in a race to rest and regain full fitness ahead of the Zimbabwe tour.
"I've been playing with pain in my left meniscus. Now it's getting tougher to continue like this and the doctor has recommended that I give it some rest," Tamim told the media on Thursday after the match.
He will start rehabbing after resting for a few days: "I will have to rest for a few days before I can let the knee fully heal up and then start rehabbing. I can then tell my exact return date, but I hope to be fully fit before the Zimbabwe series."
Bangladesh are set to fly for Zimbabwe on 29 June to play one Test and three T20Is and ODIs, although the dates for the matches have not been finalised yet.
While Tamim's team has been doing well in the DPL by topping the table with nine wins in 11 matches and 18 points, his batting has not been up to his lofty standards.
He has scored 306 runs at an average of 27.81 in 11 games and, however, is the third-highest run-getter in the tournament so far.
