Towhid Hridoy joins Shanto and Mushfiq in injury woes
Concerns are growing over his availability for the upcoming limited-overs matches against the West Indies.
Bangladesh cricket's injury crisis deepens following consecutive series defeats, as Towhid Hridoy becomes the latest player sidelined.
Mushfiqur Rahim was the first to be ruled out of the ongoing West Indies tour, and captain Najmul Hossain Shanto's participation in the white-ball series remains uncertain as he continues to recover.
Hridoy sustained a leg injury while practising in his hometown, Bogura, on 27 November. Concerns are growing over his availability for the upcoming limited-overs matches against the West Indies.
A selector from the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) confirmed the news, stating they are awaiting his medical report.
The BCB has also delayed announcing the ODI squad as they await updates on both Shanto and Hridoy. Shanto, who captained the Test side in Antigua, is yet to regain full fitness after the opening Test defeat.
Bangladesh, now led by Mehidy Hasan Miraz, will look to keep the Test series alive when they face the West Indies in the second Test starting on 30 November in Jamaica.
The white-ball leg of the tour is scheduled to begin with a three-match ODI series on 8, 10, and 12 December, followed by a T20I series on 16, 18, and 20 December. However, with key players battling injuries, team composition remains uncertain as Bangladesh seeks a turnaround in form.
