Despite not being bowled out, Sri Lanka fell short, finishing well under the target.
Captain Sumaiya Akter claimed three wickets for 12 runs, while Farzana Yasmin and Nishitha Akter took two wickets each.
Earlier, after being sent to bat, Bangladesh's innings was propped up by several short but impactful knocks. Bangladesh's next match in the tournament is tomorrow, against hosts Malaysia. The six-team Asia Cup is split into two groups. The other group includes India, Pakistan, and Nepal, with the top two teams from each group advancing to the Super Four stage.
