Young Shanto to lead Minister Group Rajshahi

Minister Group Rajshahi have experienced players like Mohammad Ashraful, who previously led the Bangladesh national team. There are also Farhad Reza, Rakibul Hasan, Arafat Sunny. But Rajshahi opted for young Nazmul Hossain Shanto to lead them Bangabandhu T20 Cup.

The team management announced Shanto as their skipper for the upcoming Bangabandhu T20 Cup beginning from November 24. They announced the decision in their jersey unveiling ceremony at their head office on Thursday.

Minister Group chairman MA Razzak Khan Raj hoped the senior players would help Shanto during matches. 

"Shanto will get help from the senior cricketers of the team. Ashraful and others will surely help him to make difficult decisions. We have chosen him as the captain as he has been in the game and captained in the BCB President's Cup,'' said Raj.
Shanto was very excited about getting the captaincy. He thanked the team management for letting him lead the team despite having several senior cricketers on the side.

This is undoubtedly a great opportunity for me. I always enjoy captaincy. Team Management gave me this opportunity, I am grateful. It will be an advantage for me as we have several senior and experienced cricketers on our side," said the young skipper. 

Rajshahi seemed like the weakest side on paper after the players' draft, but their skipper Shanto said they have a good balance in their squad and will give a good fight in the title race.
"We have 3-4 all-rounders. Saifuddin, Farhad Reza, Mahedi Hasan - they will all play a big part. We also have a good depth in our batting and bowling line-ups. I think we have a good combination in every sector," said skipper Shanto. 
Shanto believes Rajshahi have a few players who can single-handedly change the game within an over or two. 
Rajshahi have the likes of Mohammad Ashraful, Rony Talukder, Farhad Reza, Saifuddin, Nurul Hasan Sohan,Mahedi Hasan, Arafat Sunny, Fazle Mahmud Rabbi on their side. 
Shanto previously captained Najmul XI in the BCB President's Cup last month where his team lost to Mahmudullah XI in the final.

Minister Group Rajshahi will be facing Beximco Dhaka in the curtain-raiser on November 24.
