How global media covered the first Trump-Biden debate
The media were stunned too
Last night the United States of America held its first presidential debate between President Donald Trump and former vice president and this year's Democrat Party Candidate, Joe Biden.
For many reasons this debate was one of the most important debates of the US presidential history, but this was also was one of a kind debate. Before the debate, the poll was aligned towards Biden but after the debate, it's vividly clear that Trump has won this round. But the win really didn't come by addressing the people with firm eloquence, informative argument and policy reforms or even from political standpoints. Trump bagged this just by being Trump – with all his lies, deception, stepping into Biden's speech which ended up making this debate nothing but pointless chaos.
The global media didn't fell short to respond to the issue as well. Let's take a look at how the media giants covered the first Presidential debate of 2020.
CNN
"An absolutely awful debate" – this headline is hanging on CNN homepage just after the debate was finished. They dedicated the complete landing page of their international edition on the debate.
A CNN host cited the debate as a "disgrace" saying, "This is the worst Presidential debate I have ever seen."

Reuters

NY Times
"Biden calls President a clown" – this is one of the major headlines of the NY Times from the first Presidential debate.
That actually unveils a lot of how a most anticipating and crucial debate turned into nothing but another platform to attack personally. Check their report here https://www.nytimes.com/2020/09/29/us/politics/trump-biden-debate.html?action=click&module=Spotlight&pgtype=Homepage
Al Jazeera
The Quatar based media outlet Al Jazeera didn't dedicate their whole homepage to the debate but they also didn't leave the chance to mock US with the headline "An "Ugly" first US election debate."
