Motorbikes added in CMP’s beat policing
The Chattogram Metropolitan Police (CMP) has added 13 motorcycles to its beat policing units in order to speed up activities in the port city.
The motorcycles were handed over to the North Division of CMP on Wednesday.
CMP Commissioner Saleh Mohammad Tanvir was present at the motorbike handover ceremony at Panchlaish Model Police Station. Chattogram-based Albion Group provided a token motorcycle for the event.
The CMP Commissioner said, ''Civic involvement is needed in policing. As part of their corporate social responsibility, the business community will continue to cooperate as well.''
Beat policing is a collaborative effort of both the police and community to provide sustainable security for society.
Albion Group Chairman Raisul Uddin Saikat, Additional Commissioners of Police SM Mostaq Ahmed and Amena Begum, Deputy Commissioner of Police (North) Bijoy Basak, also attended the ceremony.
