3 additional IGPs among 7 top police officials sent on forced retirement

Seven top police officials, including three additional inspector generals of police (additional IGPs), have been sent on forced retirement.
The Ministry of Home Affairs issued separate notifications in this regard today (22 September).
The seven police officials are: additional IGP of Railway Police Devdas Bhattacharya, additional IGP AKM Hafiz Akhtar, additional IGP Bashir Ahmed, superintendent of police Md Mizanur Rahman, assistant superintendent of police Rafiqul Islam, assistant superintendent of police Dadan Fakir and assistant superintendent of police Shamim or Rashid Talukder.
According to the notifications, signed by Public Security Division Senior Secretary Mohammad Abdul Momen, the move was taken in public interest under Section 45 of the Public Service Act 2018.
