3 dead after motorcycle loses control and crashes into electric pole in Cumilla
Three people on a motorcycle were killed in Cumilla after it lost control and crashed into an electric pole.
The accident occurred in the wee hours of Monday (23 December) in the Palpara area of Burichang Road under Adarsha Sadar Upazila of Cumilla.
Mohammad Mohinul Islam, officer-in-charge (OC) of Cumilla Kotwali Model police station, said "The incident took place around 1:30am Monday on Burichang Road in the Palpara area of Sadar Upazila. A speeding motorcycle lost control and hit an electric pole on the side of the road.
"All three died on the spot. Their bodies have been handed over to their families," he added.
The deceased have been identified as Ahad Hossain, son of Kausar Khalil from the Araioura area of Sadar Upazila; Md Minhajul, son of Monir Hossain from Bhubanghar area; and Mohammad Imon, son of Zakir Hossain from Shikarpur village of Burichang Upazila.
Ahad's uncle, Papon, said, "Ahad and Imon were on their way to drop off videographer Minhajul at his home after attending a relative's wedding ceremony in the Araioura Madhyampara area. The accident occurred on their way, leading to the death of all three individuals."
