4 remanded over deaths from liquor consumption in Bogura
A total of 16 people have reportedly died after ingesting toxic liquor in Bogura in the last few days
A Bogura court has remanded four people for two days each in the case filed over the recent deaths from liquor consumption in Bogura.
Ahmed Shahriar Tarek, the additional chief judicial magistrate of Bogura, passed the order on Wednesday, when the four were produced before the court.
The four are identified as – Nurunnobi, owner of PM (Parul) Homeo laboratories; Abdul Khaleq, owner of Moon Homeo Hall; Abu Jewel, worker of Hasan Homeo Pharmacy; and Shahidul Alam Sabur, owner of Kartowa Home Hall of the district down.
They were arrested from different spots of the district on Tuesday allegedly for selling toxic liquor.
A total of 16 people have reportedly died after ingesting toxic liquor in Bogura in the last few days.
Family members and relatives confirmed that the deceased had ingested liquor before their abnormal demises.
However, the superintendent of district police, Ali Ashraf Bhuiyan claimed that toxic liquor consumption had claimed eight lives in the district. He was speaking at a press conference at Bogura Sadar Police Station on Wednesday morning.
