6 people, identified through video footage, detained over Ctg lawyer Alif's murder: CAO
The Chattagram Metropolitan Police have detained six people over the murder of lawyer Saiful Islam Alif yesterday during the unrest centring rejection of bail of former Iskcon Bangladesh leader Chinmoy Krishna Das Brahmachari.
They were identified through video footage, according to the chief adviser's office.
In a Facebook post today (27 November), the CAO said the CMP also detained 21 people for vandalism and assaults on police during clashes.
Six members of Awami League and banned Chhatra League were also arrested with homemade improvised explosives (cocktails) in the port city, according to the press release.
The joint forces have detained a total of 33 people from the Kotwali area of Chattogram over vandalism and killing Alif during the unrest .
